Sara Badalo
It was born in the heart of the waves of Fuzeta, where the sound of the sea met the unique voice of Sara Badalo. An Algarvian soul who has transformed her heritage into notes of jazz, pop and electronica, creating a musical mix as intriguing as the sea breeze.
Involved in music from an early age, Sara was motivated by her parents to be audacious and unique. As a result, at the age of 18 she packed up her dreams and headed for Lisbon, where she enrolled at the Lisbon School of Music.
With a degree in Jazz Singing, she joined projects such as The Happy Mess, Radio Royale, 5-30 and The Spill. In 2015, her talent was recognised with the award for best instrumentalist at the São Luiz Jazz Festival. Since then, Sara has created music and shared stages alongside renowned artists such as Mário Laginha Trio, António Zambujo, Maro, Emmy Curl and The Legendary Tigerman (among others).
As well as having been part of the performance of the winning song of the Festival da Canção 2022, Maro's "Saudade Saudade", today her musicality flows through various projects, including The Legendary Tigerman, FUSHI, Azura, João Frade & Aenigmatic Orchestra, Elis & Eles and Chico no Feminino.
It's in exploring the different ways of being an interpreter that Sara Badalo feels happy. She's not just a voice; she's a mystery that leaves audiences more curious and fascinated with every performance. Her journey is a mixture of courage, talent and a hint of enigma, always looking for the next wave of sound to dive into and emerge from.
