Manuel João Vieira

 

Manuel João Vieira is a Portuguese musician, painter and teacher.

Founder and lead singer of the bands Irmãos Catita, Ena Pá 2000 and Corações de Atum, he has created and embodied various characters on stage, such as Lello Universal, Lello Minsk, Lello Marmelo, Élvis Ramalho, Orgasmo Carlos, Catita, among others.

In 2008, his fictional biography was the subject of a six-part series entitled Mundo Catita, which was broadcast on RTP2. The series was released on DVD in 2009 and shown on SIC Radical. He was one of the owners of Cabaret Maxime in Lisbon. He announced his candidacy for President of the Portuguese Republic in 2011 and 2016. He is the current owner of the Titanic Sur Mer bar in Cais do Sodré.

He has a new solo album, "O Tempo das Andorinhas", scheduled for September or October this year, in a troubadour style based on the songs of "dor de corno" (horn pain).
